A group of Brooklyn residents used a day of service to help the struggling victims of Hurricane Irma on the Caribbean island of Anguilla.
Several people, some with family and businesses on the small island of Anguilla, came together to form "Water for Anguilla" at Brown Memorial Baptist Church Monday.
Many are without water, electricity, gas and generators in the wake of Irma, which is why the group is raising money and collecting bottled water for those in need.
The group currently has 10,000 pounds of water, but it hopes to send up to 80,000 pounds to the island.
The group has also received more than $8,000 in donations.
