Police are searching for a man wanted for brutally beating a victim for cash.

Police are searching for a man wanted for brutally beating a victim for cash.
The victim tells police he was walking on June 15 around 10:30 p.m. when a man stepped out between two parked cars and demanded his money.
Police say the 56-year-old victim was walking near Strickland Avenue and Avenue N when the man seen on surveillance video approached him with a knife. Officials say the suspect started to threaten the victim, throwing him to the ground and repeatedly punching and kicking him before he took off with the victim's cellphone and $130.
Investigators say the suspect is described to be six feet tall and around 180 pounds.
As for the victim, News 12 is told he suffered bruising to his face, but refused medical attention.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
