Amazon Prime Day is Monday, July 16,  and the online retailer will discount more than a million products in order to entice people to sign up for Amazon Prime.
News 12’s Walt Kane says that there are some ways to get the best deals on Prime Day without overspending.
Kane says to make an Amazon Wish List in advance and keep an eye on lightning deals, which may move fast. He says that customers can also download the Amazon app for their smartphones to get an advance look at certain products that will be discounted.
Insiders say that some Prime Day deals are better than others. They says that Amazon products tend to have better deals because the company has control over the pricing and often offers the larger discounts.
They say that customers may often see good discounts on tech products, but not always the latest models.
The experts also say to avoid items like appliances, cookware or clothing because better deals are often found on Black Friday.
There are also some online resources to help customers track the best deals. There are price trackers like Rank Tracer or Camel Camel Camel. These let customers track the price history of any Amazon product.
Invisible Hand tracks prices at 11,000 online stores. Deeper discounts can be found on rebate sites like Ibotta or Ebates.
