De Blasio urges voter registration
Friday is the last day New Yorkers can register to vote ahead of the upcoming Election Day.
Mayor Bill de Blasio helped register new voters in Brooklyn Thursday.
He also called on Albany to pass new laws allowing early voting, same-day voter registration and electronic poll books in the state -- measures he says would encourage more people to vote.
"The hoops that you have to jump through in the state are becoming more and more archaic," the mayor argued.
Some critics, however, tell News 12 they aren't registered to vote and don't plan on it out of opposition to both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, the two major party candidates in this year's election.
