A fashion show Saturday in Fort Greene was organized by a nonprofit group to honor two young lives that were taken by domestic violence and child abuse.
"You're not alone" is the message that the community fashion show aimed to send.
The show honored 6-year-old Zymere Perkins, who was killed in 2016 in Harlem after allegedly being abused by his mother's boyfriend. It also honored 19-year-old Jashaya Stanley, who was killed in Fort Greene in 2011, allegedly by the father of her child.
Families of the victims came together to remember the two lives that were lost, and to call for changes. They say hope the next generation will speak up and stand up to violence.
