A father and son duo from City Island has written and illustrated a book together.
David and Gabriel Ellis say they are more than just father and son, but also a team.
Together, the pair put together a book of poetry called “Seagulls.”
The pages are filled with haiku and splashes of colors. The duo tells News 12 David wrote the words, while Gabriel was the illustrator.

"The collaboration was amazing. This could be a book he shares one day with his kids and his grandkids,” says David Ellis.

They say the book is about seagulls and nature and is a great book for the beach.

The book can be purchased at Clipper Coffee in City Island.
"We've had a lot people coming in and looking at those books and seeing what can be done here in the Bronx and City Island,” says David.

The father and son say they’ll be at the coffee shop on Aug. 31st to sign copies of their first book released together.
