Father warns about child luring attempt
A Brooklyn father is raising awareness after he says his child was the target of an attempted luring.
Pierre Verna says his 12-year-old daughter was walking from an after-school activity at around 7:30 p.m. on June 5 near Rogers Avenue and Lincoln Road when a man in a vehicle motioned toward her. His daughter thought that she had dropped something, but she says the man tried to get her into his vehicle when she went back to look.
Verna says his daughter ran from the scene. He asked local businesses whether they had surveillance video and he notified police.
He says it is important that parents remain alert about these types of incidents.
