A former Poly Prep football star who lost his life on Sept. 11 is being remembered this week.

Joe Della Pietra died at just 24 years old while working for Cantor-Fitzgerald in one of the World Trade Center towers. His legacy lives on today, thanks in part to his old coach, Jim Esposito, who says Pietra was one of his favorite all-time players.

Pietra was a captain in high school and went on to graduate from Columbia University.
