Gov. Andrew Cuomo went underground to get a first-hand look at construction being done to the L train ahead of the 15-month planned shutdown starting in April.

"I just want the facts, and I want the truth and I want New Yorkers to have the truth," says Cuomo.

Cuomo says he wants to make sure the MTA's plan is the most efficient means of getting the project finished.

"I want to be able to say once again, everyone who knows how to do this has looked at it and this is the best way and the fastest way," he says.

The Canarsie Tunnel will shut down in April for 15 months to make repairs needed after damage from Superstorm Sandy.

The looming shutdown is going to impact hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers, specially commuters who rely on the L train to get into an out of lower Manhattan every day.

Cuomo says his team should draw their conclusions as to whether or not the MTA's plan is sufficient within two to three weeks.
