A jury has found a Brooklyn grandmother guilty of manslaughter in her 4-year-old granddaughter's death. Loretta Brett was charged in the 2010 starvation and beating death of 4-year-old Marchella Pierce. The child's mother, Carlotta Brett-Pierce, was convicted of murder earlier this week and is awaiting sentencing. Prosecutors alleged that Brett knew about the abuse, but did nothing to stop it.
