A string of robberies in the Sheepshead Bay area is under investigation, and police say a group of young men is to blame.
According to officials, the majority of the robberies have taken place in the late afternoon or early evening hours.
Police released a photo from an area surveillance camera showing two of the young men they are searching for in connection to the robberies.
Each time, police say, at least one, but as many as four young men, approached the victims who are all between 13 and 17 years old. The suspects either implied they had a weapon or actually held out a weapon and stole the victim’s belongings. Things like cellphones, headphones and cash have all been stolen.
The holdups took place between Nov. 9 and Nov. 30 mostly in the Sheepshead Bay area.
News 12 is told during at least two of the holdups the suspects punched the victim in the face before taking their belongings. No one was seriously hurt during any of the robberies.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
