The Guardian Angels swept through the Sotomayor Houses this week, passing out more than 1,500 flyers in the hopes of finding the person responsible for muzzling a 3-year-old dog and leaving her for dead.
Police responded to a 911 call on April 8 about an abandoned dog on Watson Avenue. When they arrived, they found her on the curb – muzzled, severely dehydrated and starving.
The dog, who was named Watson, was taken by officers to the ASPCA, where she died a day later.
As the police investigation continues, the Guardian Angels and Sotomayor residents hope their questions about the incident will soon be answered.
Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes Watson or can help in the investigation to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
