Drivers in Coney Island were urged to take caution and residents were asked to take cover as heavy rain pummeled the borough Monday evening.
The rain created enormous puddles and flooding in low-lying areas causing messy roads and flood concerns.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch and a coastal flood advisory for Brooklyn through early Tuesday morning.
The evening commute was chaotic for some drivers because flooding in the areas made for slippery roads. The Belt Parkway experienced low-visibility and drivers had to slow down in order to avoid any danger. The flooding was expected to be worse in coastal areas like Coney Island.
Residents in Coney Island told News 12 that that whenever there is any significant rainfall, low lying areas like this become flooded with several inches of water.

They say this is not just something they see in Coney Island, but also in Seagate and Brighton Beach.
