A new independent movie theater has opened in Crown Heights.
Video Revival, an arthouse theater, is operated by volunteers.
Co-owner Christian Hendricks says he and his friends opened the place to bring independent films to central Brooklyn.
They also did it on a small budget.
"We found the seats -- came from a church outside Philly, and we got the money donated for the projector," Hendricks says.
The house is showing some obscure films to start, but organizers say they'll show more familiar cult classics next month.
Weekday evening tickets cost $8. Weekend matinees are family-oriented and cost $5.
