Service changes on the L Train are now in effect and that could mean inconveniences for some late-night straphangers.
Between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., L trains will stop running between Manhattan and Brooklyn.
The service changes will be in effect on weeknights over the next two weeks.
"When you're tired at work, you just want to go home. You don't want to have to take a shuttle bus or another train or learn a new route," says Marcy Gomez.
Riders who have to get from Manhattan to Brooklyn or vice versa after 10 p.m., will have to use one of the alternate routes suggested by the MTA.
MTA officials recommend the J, A or F lines. The M14 bus is also an option.
Some say that while the repairs are inconvenient, they're glad changes are being made.
"Do I want to die in the tunnel because they didn't do repairs? No," says Sari Caine. "It is a pain but I don't want them to not make repairs."
For those traveling within Brooklyn, the l train will operate between the Lorimer Avenue station and Canarsie.
Commuters say the changes will be inconvenient.
"We work so you know, we get out after 10 p.m. and you know, we don't always want to take cabs because we get paid every two weeks, so the train is usually our quickest way to get home," says Gomez.
The overnight service suspensions will continue through April 26.
