As many businesses still remain closed, one nail salon in Morris Park is already preparing to open using unique ways to keep customers safe.
New plexiglass shields are just one of the many safety measures the owner of Stiletto Goddess Nail Salon, Melitza Roman, plans to use to ensure her business is operating securely.
"We've been impacted very hard, but because I haven't gotten no guidance on how to start up, I've been having to do my own research,” said Melitza.
She says the nail salon has high standards to uphold when her doors do open again.
"Some of the stuff that we're going to continue doing, we've been doing since we started with sanitizing the tools, cleaning them, disinfecting them,” said Roman.
They also already wear gloves, masks, and aprons. Roman was also recently certified in new infection control standards in the beauty industry, including barbicide, to stay up to date with the most current information.

The salon also has two machines, one to clean the air and the other to take any toxic air out.
Roman says she not only hopes her efforts bring comfort to customers knowing they are stepping back into a safe and clean establishment, but also to, “Feel beautiful again, we miss that!"
