Mott Haven was recently named one of Street-Easy's Top Neighborhoods to Watch in 2019.

The area of the south Bronx that is now said to be in the middle of a renaissance, has a difficult past, but is rich with history.  It has three historic districts, one of which is celebrating 50 years of landmark status this summer.

“The Bronx is no longer burning as they say,” says Samuel Brooks, of Mott Haven Historic Districts Association. “We had a bad image.”

Rowhouses and civil structures are hidden architectural wonders.

Brooks says his organization hopes to preserve the community’s history as businesses are booming and developers are turning their gaze to the community.
