The MTA has installed 12 new countdown clocks to bus stops around Brooklyn.

The clocks were installed at bus stops in Park Slope as part of the MTA's new real-time arrival data initiative.

The MTA has also installed an audio button on the clocks that will read aloud the wait time of the next bus for people who are vision impaired.

Council member Brad Lander says the Park Slope community voted to bring in the clocks about five years ago. Lander is also calling on Link NYC to post real-time bus information on the 7,500 consoles around the city.

In a statement, a spokesperson from Link NYC thanked Council member Lander for the suggestion, and says Links NYC will continue to provide transit information on the MTA's website. She says Links NYC is actively working to add more transit updates to its already provided information.

About 20 more clocks are planned to be rolled out across Brooklyn by the end of 2017. Other locations reportedly chosen are Kensington and Windsor Terrace.
