Straphangers will be seeing less trash cans at some subway stations in Brooklyn.

The MTA says its expanding a pilot program to remove garbage cans from stops throughout the city. The goal is to reduce the number of exposed trash bags that have to be removed from the system and to help control the rodent population.

Officials say the affected Brooklyn stations are the 7th Avenue stop on the F and G line, and the Brighton Beach Q station.
