Wednesday marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid al-Fitr, a celebration in the Muslim community who have been fasting for the past month.
Eid al-Fitr, which means "festival of breaking the fast", marks the end of abstinence from consuming liquids and food, as well as partaking in sexual activity, from sunrise to sunset.
It is considered one of the most important dates in the Muslim calendar.
The celebrations last for three days with events planned throughout the borough.
