New app helps cyclists record crash evidence
Brooklyn bicyclists have a new smart phone app to take for a ride, just in case they're involved in an accident.
The Bike Crash Kit helps bikers to accurately record evidence at the scene, including the license plate of a vehicle involved. The app also has a section that let's users draw a diagram to show what happened.
The app's creator says it's been downloaded about 500 times so far, and most of those downloads are from people in the borough.
According to the latest Department of Transportation (DOT) statistics, Brooklyn had 275 bike crashes in a two-month period last year, which is more than any other borough.
