A fresh crop of neighborhood coordination officers is hitting the streets of Bushwick to create a safer and closer community.
Officers Christian Romero and Daniel Atherly have only been on the job for a month, but they're already a hit in the neighborhood.
The 10 new NCOs from the 83rd Precinct are helping the community see their local officers in a more approachable manner. Each team of two officers is assigned to a specific area to build familiarity, putting them in a better position to fight crime.
The 83rd Precinct is the last one in Brooklyn North to roll out the NCO program since it started in 2015.
