NYPD: 1 arrested in chase, fatal shooting of man in East New York
Police say one person was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in East New York.
They say the victim, 21-year-old Tyquan Eversley, was chased down by a group of men before he was shot five times and killed on March 19.
Surveillance video shows the suspects, who are believed to be a group of 10 men, chasing the victim down the street when one of them pulls out a gun but doesn't fire.
Eversley is then seen running through the front yard of a home with the suspects following closely behind. He runs through the driveway into a backyard where he's seen frantically jumping over a white fence.
One of the suspects then throws a rock over the fence at him. Then, another suspect clinging onto the fence is seen fatally shooting Eversley.
NYPD trucks played the video on a big screen while canvassing the area Thursday to try and draw people's attention to the case.
Police say the man in custody is 25-year-old Michael Reid. Detectives have also identified three out of the 10 men who they say were involved.
The men identified as suspects are 29-year-old Donaven McDay, 24-year-old Shacore Huff and 22-year-old Alfred Crooks.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea says this case is eerily similar to the brutal slaying of Lesandro Guzman-Feliz in the Bronx last June.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
