Officials announce Zadroga Act expansion
Federal officials have announced that 14 categories of cancer will be added to the list of illnesses covered by the James Zadroga-9/11 Health and Compensation Act.
About 50 types of cancer will be covered for those who worked at Ground Zero following the attacks.
The act was signed by President Barack Obama in 2010 to cover illnesses for nearly 40,000 first responders. Nearly 20,000 first responders and survivors are receiving treatment under the act.
