Volunteers in Paramus came together to help those affected by Florence a little over a week after the storm devastated parts of North and South Carolina.
Boy Scout Troop 138 from Our Lady of Visitation in Paramus was out Sunday morning collecting various items, including baby supplies, personal hygiene items, pet supplies and food.
The effort is called "Stuff the Truck," and the goal is to get as many relief supplies as possible inside a large vehicle heading toward North Carolina.
Assistant Boy Scout Master Ed Hill told News 12 he would be driving down to North Carolina Sunday night to deliver the supplies.
"It's a good lesson for these kids, to give back to the community, to give back to people that are in need," says Hill.
The troop was not asking for water because FEMA says it has enough down there. The troop says the water will take up space inside the vehicle that can be used for other needed supplies.
