A piece of New York Yankees history has been auctioned off for $4.4 million.
An original jersey worn by Babe Ruth in the 1920s set a new sales record for sports memorabilia. Bidding started at $250,000.
Auctioneers estimate that the number of original, unaltered Ruth jerseys still in existence can be counted on a single hand.
