Saturday marked another day of protesting, including in the Garden State, over the police custody death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Floyd, a black man, died after a white police officer kneeled on his neck for more than eight minutes while he was handcuffed.

News 12’s Hilary Lane was outside City Hall in Jersey City where protesters have been gathering for more than seven days. The protesters who have been marching for seven days say the schedule is grueling, with mile and miles logged and no access to food or bathrooms.

Organizer A'dreana Williams, who is 18 years old, said the idea for a protest started in a group chat with her friends and grew from there. She is one of the people who has been protesting for more than a week.

Protesters have been calling on the adoption of action items that they say would lead to an end of police brutality, create new legislation and ensure corrupt police officers are punished.

The protesters say they will continue to fight until they see progress towards ending police brutality and racism.
