Residents celebrate Bed-Stuy with Stoops Art Crawl
Cultural events and artistic showcases are sweeping through Bed-Study stoops this weekend for the annual Stoops Art Crawl.
This year marks the fifth year of the event started by Kendra Ross, a Bed-Stuy resident from Michigan, who wants to bring a small-town feel to Bed-Stuy by encouraging residents to come outside and celebrate their neighborhood.
Ross says that she compares the event to her experience in Michigan, where friends and family often caught up on their front porch.
She says a network of over 100 artists, homeowners, local business owners and neighbors participate in the event.
So far the event has featured music performances, theatrical plays and showcased the work of many talented artists.
