Sentencing has been postponed for a 44-year-old man convicted in a hit-and-run crash that took the lives of a young Orthodox couple in Williamsburg. 

Authorities say Julio Acevedo was behind the wheel of a car that smashed into a vehicle carrying an expectant Raizy Glauber and her husband, Nathan, back in March 2013. 

The sentencing was delayed because the prosecution has asked the judge to consider life in prison. Acevedo's lawyer argues that a life sentence would be inhumane for a tragedy that he says was just an accident. 

The Glaubers were just 21 years old. Their child was delivered prematurely, but did not survive. 

Sentencing is expected to happen in one week.
