Services held for Borough Park couple killed in fire
Services were held Monday afternoon for a husband and wife killed in a fast-moving fire inside their Borough Park home.
The fire broke out around 4 a.m. Monday on 44th Street.
More than 100 community members poured into the Shomrei Hadas Chapels funeral home to pay their respects to 61-year-old Howard Gluck and his 59-year-old wife, Evelyn.
The couple's 17-year-old daughter was home at the time of the fire and was hospitalized for her injuries. Relatives say she was present at the funeral home.
The FDNY says it is investigating the cause of the blaze. Representatives set up a table on 44th Street to hand out smoke detectors and educate neighbors about fire safety.
