The mother of a young man gunned down in November is appealing to the public to help catch her son's killer.
Dionne Boyd says her 16-year-old son Clayton Hemingway was shot and killed on Nov. 4, 2017.
"My son's dreams are gone," she says. "They stole my son's dreams, and it's not fair, and it's not right."
Charlotte Richardson, Boyd's close friend, says she mourned Hemingway like he was her own son, too.
Hemingway went out to play basketball at the Linden Houses, where he lived, and never returned.
Police still have not made an arrest in the case.
Hemingway wanted to become a professional basketball player. His favorite subjects in school were math and science.
Boyd is asking for anyone with information to contact police. She and Richardson are also both advocating stricter gun control laws.
