Over 4,000 Success Academy students from around New York City united at the Barclays Center for an unusual kind of pep rally.
The rally was the sixth annual "Slam the Exam" event, in preparation for upcoming state exams.
Students joined in chants, songs and dances in hopes of more success on these important tests.
Bergen Beach Principal Regina Loftus says she is looking forward to seeing this year's results after all of her students passed last year's English exam, and 98 percent passed math.
Loftus says students are successful because they understand the importance of preparing and performing each year.
"They are going to take tests possibly to get into high school, they will take the SATs, the LSATs," says Loftus. "So this experience is going to be valuable for them next week, in two weeks and then for the rest of their lives."
Students say the rally gave them a chance to let loose from any worries and calm down before the big exams.
The state exams begin next Wednesday and Thursday.
