Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams held his third annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony Thursday.
The banner used in the ceremony includes the names of all 266 Brooklyn residents who died in the attacks.
The family members of one police officer and one firefighter who were killed, along with a firefighter who recently passed away from 9/11- related illnesses, each spoke one by one.
Adams say it is important to come together and remember not only those who were lost on that day, but to remember the way our nation came together on Sept. 12 of that year.
He also took a moment during the ceremony to present a donation to the Firefighter Leon W. Smith Foundation Scholarship Fund.
The banner will be on display until Sept. 11.
Adams say the memorial will be on display every single year.
