Youth task force to help stamp out domestic violence
Brooklyn took a stand against violence Monday with the announcement of a task force during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Advocates and lawmakers gathered at Borough Hall to unveil the school-based Domestic Violence Youth Task Force, which state Sen. Eric Adams helped form.
The FaithTrust Institute is also working to collect 4,000 signatures online to take a stand against the abuse.
Officials say minority and immigrant women are most at risk to suffer at the hands of a loved one.
