A string of shootings made for one of the most violent nights in Brooklyn so far this year.
In just over a six-hour span from late Saturday night into early Sunday morning, seven separate shooting incidents in the borough left 11 people injured.
Police say the most violent incident occurred at Prospect Place, where emergency responders found a 32-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his ankle, a 31-year-old victim with wounds to the chest, leg and arm, and two other victims with injuries to the forearm and leg.
A man was shot in the torso in Brookdale, and another male was treated in the area with gunshot wounds to the leg and arm, according to authorities.
At 11 p.m., a man was hit in the shoulder and leg along the Shore Parkway. Police say he is in stable condition.
On Sutter and Alabama avenues, two males were shot in the legs. Both went to Brookdale Hospital.
Around 9:40 p.m., a man said to be in his 30s was treated for a shot in the shoulder. He too is in stable condition, according to authorities.
Police say a 20-year-old male was shot in the right arm in a car that was parked on Park Avenue and North Elliot Place.
Some local residents say they are not surprised by the frenzy of violence, and are calling for stricter gun control.?
