More than 100 people celebrated their new American citizenship in Rockland County on Friday – but for one woman, it was bittersweet.
Marlene Brown is an immigrant from Jamaica who lost her older sister to cancer several days ago. She said her sister helped her acclimate and survive when she first arrived to the area.
"She took me in when I came to Rockland County. She was my ride-or-die,” said Brown.
