More than 1,100 runners laced up their shoes to participate in Thanksgiving?s fourth annual Turkey Trot.
The event began around 9 a.m. in Prospect Park. People from all over the city came to compete in the five mile race, which raised money for Brooklyn?s Bishop Ford High School. Officials at the race estimate that about $10,000 will go to the school to be used for the track, field and cross country teams.
The fastest runner this year finished the race in just over 25 minutes.
The race is now overseen by the Prospect Park Track Club, which took it over from the New York Road Runners Club.
