14-year-old boy hit by car in East New York
News 12 spoke exclusively with the boy's father, Nathaniel Congress, who says his son was walking home from school when he was hit.

Police say a 14-year-old boy was hit by a black Chevy Tahoe Thursday around 2:10 p.m. at the intersection of Belmont and Euclid Avenue.
They say the driver of the car ran the stop sign.
Video appears to show the driver trying to talk to the boy, and then driving away.
News 12 spoke exclusively with the boy's father, Nathaniel Congress, who says his son was walking home from school when he was hit.
“He’s in pain right now, but at the same time he’s happy to be alive. I don’t appreciate you just leaving. You don’t care about life. Like we all got to stick together and come together and take care of each. Each and every one each other," said Congress.
While the boy walked away with a broken nose and lip, his father says it's a residential area, especially vulnerable for kids.
“In the morning, there are some crazy drivers and the drivers sometimes don’t pay attention to kids they can’t see over their car hood. I see that most of the time, and it frustrates me. I’m not a driver, but I am a cautious pedestrian. Please drivers also be cautious about the pedestrians," said Congress.
It comes as other incidents this past week that involved kids struck by cars in Brooklyn.
