Police say a 16-year-old boy was robbed at knifepoint during a social media meetup gone awry in the Bronx.
It unfolded on July 3 around 9:30 p.m. inside a building at the Patterson NYCHA Houses, near East 145th Street and 3rd Avenue.
According to the NYPD, the teen met up with a person he connected with on social media, who greeted him and led him inside. Here, the victim was confronted by two others - one held him at knifepoint while the other snatched his cellphone, a value of around $1,000.
Police say the trio took off running after the robbery.
No one was injured.
