18-year-old arrested in connection to shooting where bullet grazed 5-year-old
An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a 5-year-old was grazed with a bullet while playing on the sidewalk three weeks ago.
Omar Gelin is facing attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of weapon and reckless endangerment charges.
Police say the incident happened on Montauk Avenue by New Lots Avenue on April 6.
They say the 5-year-old was playing on the sidewalk when she was grazed by the bullet.
She was taken to Brookdale Hospital and released after suffering a minor graze wound.
