A Bronx County Supreme Court judge has freed two people today after nearly two decades in prison for a murder they did not commit.
Bronx native Eric Glisson and Cathy Watkins were sentenced 17 years ago for the murder of a Bronx livery cab driver.
The process to release the two started after a federal investigator found two jailed gang bangers had confessed to the murder years ago.
The district attorney says it has an obligation to investigate the original guilty conviction, which will take a significant amount of time. In the meantime, Glisson and Watkins will wear ankle bracelets and are restricted to the city, Long Island and Westchester County.
