The MTA says the 4,5, and 6 trains will not run south of Grand Central Station due to track repairs.
They say replacing concrete is part of the repairs and helps to protect the system from leaks and corrosion, improving longevity of the subway system.
This means no direct service from Brooklyn into Manhattan. However, the MTA says if you’re traveling from Borough Hall, you can still take the 2 or 3 trains into Manhattan. Once in the city, the 42nd Street shuttle will also be running overnight to help riders navigate Midtown.
It comes as part of their major track replacement project. They say the goal is to improve the commuter experience and train service. But commuters like Robin Chisolm say she's feeling the opposite.
"That's messed up. You buy that OMNY card for what reason? To get on the train or bus. Now, the 4,5, and 6 trains aren't running. That's unfair," said Chisolm.
The MTA says the service suspension along those lines will last until 5 a.m. Monday.
