Two people were taken to the hospital Sunday following a ride
malfunction aboard the log flume at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson.
The two
riders were taken to a hospital: one for arm pain and the other for leg pain.
The log flume
is one of the park's original rides in the Frontier Land section. Riders go up
a steep lift, and then ride on an elevated river around the tree tops before
two small drops. At the end, one more lift takes you up to the final drop
before you splash back to the finish.
The ride
was shut down last night for inspection.
In a statement, a spokeswoman for Six Flags says, “Our First Aid
staff assisted several guests who were in a Log Flume boat that did not
complete its cycle. The safety of our guests and employees is our highest
priority. Two guests were transported to a local hospital for further
evaluation. The ride will remain closed for a full inspection.”
