Fordham Prep's ice hockey team lost to the top-seeded squad from Iona Prep in the first game of the CHSHL A Division playoffs, which was also a rematch of last season's division finals.
Iona (12-2-2) swept the Baby Rams during the regular season, but the Gaels needed to come from behind in order to grab the postseason victory. After a scoreless first period, Mike Spillane's second-period goal gave Fordham a 1-0 lead the team would carry into the final period.
Iona Captain Cody King scored on a backhander to tie the game at 3:04 in the third. Less than three minutes later, the Baby Rams couldn't control a rebound and allowed the Gaels to snatch the game-winning goal.
Fordham, who are two-time defending champions, struggled this season and finished in fourth place with a 6-9-1 record.
