Police are investigating a double shooting at East 39th Street and Farragut Street in East Flatbush that left a 28-year-old man with a grazing wound to the back of the head and a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the hand Thursday afternoon.
Police say they were called to the intersection around 4:20 p.m. for an assault in progress and found the two male victims inside of a black BMW sedan with multiple bullet holes in the driver's side door.
Both men were taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
Residents say it is a family-oriented neighborhood, with a park and school just two blocks away from the site, adding they were shocked this happened.
"I heard the shots, and I know what I heard, I'm glad that this happened during a holiday because usually that's the time kids are coming home from school people are out from work, this could have been worse," a neighbor said.
Police were seen searching the vehicle that remained at the scene and canvassing residents, but police say they do not yet have any details for a suspect in the case.
