NYPD: 24-year-old man fatally shot in Soundview

A 24-year-old man was fatally shot overnight on Elder Avenue in Soundview, according to police.
They received a call reporting gunfire just after 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found a 24-year-old man who had been shot in the chest.
While the man was rushed to a hospital, authorities say it was too late to save his life.
Police have yet to release details about what led to the shooting, but say they are looking for a blue Jeep Wrangler that they believe the suspect used to get away.
Police say they are waiting to tell the victim’s family before releasing his name.
