Brooklyn man using social media outreach to provide aid amid Israel-Hamas war

While death, devastation and heartbreak over the Israel-Hamas war have taken over the social media airwaves, one Brooklyn man is using his reach on the internet for good.
Elan Kornblum, founder of the Great Kosher Restaurants Magazine and Media Group, started the venture as a foodie group. Now, that has become a hub for all things Israel during these trying times.
“It makes me feel like I’m doing something, so I’m happy to do it and I’m proud of what we have accomplished,” said Kornblum.
Kornblum’s page quickly turned into a command center for aid following the attacks that took place from Hamas on Saturday, providing a helping hand for the nearly 92,000 members of the group.
“Every minute, there’s a post about collections or a need,” said Kornblum. “If I don’t have an answer, put it on the group, someone else will have an answer.”
The war hits close to home for Kornblum, whose brother lives in Israel and nephews are fighting on the front lines. He says the community he and his team have curated aims to serve as a beacon of hope during the current dark and trying times.
