Rally held in Crown Heights in response to recent string of deadly shootings

Crown Heights has been at the forefront of violent crime in recent days, and a rally was held with members of the clergy and community on Monday to put a stop to the violence.
This comes after the most recent fatal shooting of 13-year-old Troy Gill last Friday.
Lamine Bah, 33, was shot and killed and 37-year-old bodega worker Nazim Berry was shot and killed earlier last week as well.
Members of the clergy and community advocates spoke one by one calling for the gun violence to end, reflecting on the lives lost in these recent tragedies.
“It hit me hard, I have a child that age,” said Brian Saunders, president of the NYPD’s 77th Precinct Community Council. “Everyone else has a child, teenagers, preteens… they’re not thinking about burying their child.”
