New COVID memorial featured at entrance to Green-Wood Cemetery
The memorial will be on display through June 3, and there will be a dedication ceremony open to the public at Green-Wood Cemetery on May 19 from 4-6 p.m.

A new display is now featured at the entrance to the Green-Wood Cemetery in Sunset Park.
"A Big, Slow, Majestic COVID Memorial" was created by Naming the Lost Memorials (NTLM) and was completed Friday.
"A giant historical trauma happened to us. Everybody has a page of that story inside us," said Jenny Romaine, of Naming the Lost Memorials.
The memorial includes art from a array of groups from across New York City to highlight the different experiences people have had since COVID first hit in 2020.
The artwork includes large murals, drawings, letters and photos.
One display features letters and artwork from inmates at prisons throughout New York state and includes a solar-powered radio that plays audio recordings from some of those individuals.
"It's about love and about care and centering how much we love and care for each other," said Romaine. "That all of our different neighborhoods we love each other."
NTLM will curate memorials at the cemetery through 2025 through "The Monuments Project," which receives funding through the Mellon Foundation.
