NYPD identifies 86-year-old man fatally struck by DOT truck in Bay Ridge
The crash attracted a large crowd of bystanders, many of whom told News 12 the intersection is known for being dangerous and something needs to change.

Police released the identity of the 86-year-old man who was fatally struck Wednesday by a New York City Department of Transportation truck in Bay Ridge.
Surveillance video shows the pedestrian walking in the middle of the crosswalk at the intersection of 92nd Street and Dahlgren Place when a yellow DOT truck struck him at around 3:30 p.m. Police confirmed the victim, Antonio Conigliaro, was killed on impact.
Sources tell News 12 Conigliaro lived just down the street from where the incident took place.
Officers say the driver, a 31-year-old man, stayed at the scene.
The crash attracted a large crowd of bystanders, many of whom told News 12 the intersection is known for being dangerous and something needs to change.
"Especially the walk sign. It turns on but by the time you're in the middle of the road, then it's gone. Somebody who is disabled or somebody who cannot walk fast- it's really really dangerous for them," says Samia Haq of Bay Ridge.
It's not clear if the driver will be facing any charges. News 12 reached out to the Department of Transportation for comment and have yet to hear back.
